How to reach us

Eisenkappel is the southernmost village of Austria and lies 555 metres above sea level. Our ticket office is located directly on the main square.

The Obir dripstone caves lie 1078 metres above sea level. You can drive all the way to Eisenkappel by car, where you can park at designated parking spots. From there, the ride to the cave continuous with a cave bus.

Arriving from the north

If you arrive from the north, you can reach us by the A2 motorway. If you arrive from the direction of Graz, take the exit for Völkermarkt Ost, and if you arrive from the direction of Villach / Villach, take the Völkermarkt West exit. Then take the regional road in the direction of Eisenkappel (via Kühnsdorf, Eberndorf and Sittersdorf / Miklauzhof) all the way to the main square. Approximate driving time from the highway to the main square is about 35 minutes.

If you are coming from the direction of Klagenfurt, drive via Grafenstein and Gallizien to Eisenkappel. Approximate driving time from Klagenfurt is about 45 minutes.

Arriving from the south

If you are to arrive from the south, you can drive over the Seebergsattel. Traveling distance from the border cross to the main square is 15 kilometers.

Parking possibilities

In Eisenkappel there are a lot of possibilities for your to park your car for free, but be careful, for in the centre there are time limited parking zones, and we advise not to park your car there, for the tour lasts longer.

Pay attention to parking signs in the centre of the town. Parking is available before as well as after the main square.
